Local markets near Jabagly
The city of Turar Ryskulov (formerly known as Wanovka) is the economical center of the Tulkebas rayon. Each sunday morning farmers and traders gather at the local cattle-market. Sheep, goats, cows and horses change owner between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Visiting the market is free.
The easiest way to go to the cattle-market is by taxi. The taxi will take you in 20 minutes from Jabagly to the cattle-market. See the transportation page on this website for details. There is also the possibility to travel from Jabagly to the market by bus, but this will cost at least one hour and it is only slightly cheaper.
A good combination is to visit the cattle-market around 9:00 AM and afterwards take a taxi to the general market in the center of the city. Walking is also possible, but keep in mind that the cattle-market is outside of the city so it will cost you at least 20 minutes. The general market is a place where you can find all things for general living, ranging from food to clothing, small animals and car spare parts. The market consists of uncountable small shops, most of them not larger than a few square meters. Most of the market place is inside so you can also visit it with bad weather conditions.
You can visit the general market the whole week, except mondays. Taxis to Jabagly are available outside the market building at the right side of the white cooled shop which was built using a former train carriage.
